Job Location:

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support globally for the Well Construction product line including troubleshooting assistance, technical support of requests from engineering, operations, sales, and manufacturing, tender preparation assistance, and special projects as assigned.
  • Assist the Well Construction Global Product Line Manager through development of liner hanger training materials, customer presentations, operation manuals, and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide technical and applications engineering support for global operations, sales, and engineering by reviewing well designs, product application alongside hookup and procedures, running torque and drag analysis, swab and surge calculations, tubing stress calculations and all related hydraulic calculations.
  • Participate in design reviews of new product designs presented by the engineering group with a focus on ensuring engineering designs meet project requirements, an eye for standardization and product improvement.
  • Lead development of standardized Operations Manuals for Well Construction products including liner hanger systems, float equipment, etc.
  • Lead introduction of new products by training sales, operations, and customers on new products and services.
  • Assist with development of Statement of Requirements for new product requests (NPRs) and assist with maintaining status of NPRs in the iQS system.
  • Prepare product bulletins/alerts and make recommendations on the need for and timing of potential product bulletins/alerts.
  • Assist in technical writing/review of product marketing materials.
  • Participate in regular cross‑functional meetings with sales, regional operations, and regional applications engineering to continually update objectives and priorities.
  • Assist with technical preparation of key Well Construction tenders and bids.
  • Assist with troubleshooting analysis incidents and assist with final investigation reports.
  • Provide technical support to supply chain by verifying accuracy of orders including functional requirements and appropriate cost targets.
  • Write and present papers for professional engineering associations (e.g., SPE).
  • Complete training plan as set out for the position and within company guidelines.
  • Participate in CAT (Corrective Action Teams) to implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Perform client interface duties as required including potential travel for customer presentations.
  • Perform other tasks and duties including special projects as assigned by management.
  • Propose appropriate liner hanger system for given application based on available portfolio, and develop appropriate stab‑up and running procedures, as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of down‑hole equipment including completions, liner hangers, float equipment, and liner wiper plugs.
  • Apply technical knowledge, engineering capabilities, and system capabilities of completion tools to well construction and float equipment product lines.
  • Perform technical and commercial reviews for liner hanger tenders.
  • Create standard operating procedures for Well Construction/Liner Hanger System products.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office desktop applications.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering, or foreign equivalent.
  • Five years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or five years in a related occupation applying experience running/analyzing torque and drag simulations; creating Standard Operating Procedures for Well Construction/Liner Hanger System products; performing technical and commercial reviews for liner hanger tenders exceeding $500,000 USD in value.
  • Experience applying technical knowledge, engineering capabilities, and system capabilities of completion tools to well construction and float equipment product lines.
  • Experience participating in regular cross‑functional meetings with sales, regional operations, and regional applications engineering.
  • Knowledge of Well Construction products, technologies, and installation methods.
  • Knowledge of down‑hole equipment including completions, liner hangers, float equipment, and liner wiper plugs.
  • Ability to propose appropriate liner hanger system for given application based on available portfolio and develop stab‑up and running procedures as needed.
  • Skills performing tubing movement calculations, torque and drag, and swab and surge calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office desktop applications.
