Job Description

Olsson’s Rail Traffic team delivers specialized traffic engineering solutions for rail and roadway systems, including traffic signal preemption, grade crossing safety, and traffic operations studies.

In this role, you will lead and support complex rail traffic projects, combining technical traffic engineering work with project management responsibilities. You’ll manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and serving as a key client liaison. Responsibilities also include traffic and preemption analysis, site visits, plan and study development, risk management, and mentoring team members.

This position is ideal for an experienced project manager with a strong understanding of rail traffic engineering who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

You bring to the team:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, planning, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 8+ years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry

  • Strong understanding of rail traffic engineering principles and project management practices

  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and meet client expectations

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
