Position: Sr Structural Engineer (Data Center)

Senior Structural Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing (U.S.)

At Jacobs, we solve critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, and cutting‑edge manufacturing. As a Senior Structural Engineer on our Advanced Manufacturing team, you will work on Data Center projects—including new builds, retrofits, and colocations—performing structural engineering assignments and advancing your design expertise.

You will be a key asset, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and designers on various capital projects. You’ll liaise with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery and coordinate designs with Jacobs offices both domestic and international.

Key Contributions
  • Perform a variety of analysis
  • Create computer models for structures
  • Perform calculations for member designs and foundations, material take‑offs for estimating, preparation of miscellaneous calculations, and assist with schedules
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, and S3D
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry‑relevant design codes and standards
  • Knowledge and application of Building Codes
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, including MS Teams for remote coordination
  • Travel to client sites 10%–20% of the time
Ideal Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with industrial metals projects including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations
