Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Conveyance Practice Lead / Senior Project Manager focused on water and wastewater projects and programs in Tulsa.

Team

We help our customers leverage our industry‑leading solutions and expertise to modernize water infrastructure, optimize asset use, meet performance goals, reduce costs, and mitigate risk no matter where the water industry goes next. This team is ranked in the top 10 by ENR for Water Design Firms in Water Supply and Sewer Waste and other water‑related rankings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead major projects or programs from planning through construction. Present updates to external client stakeholders and support decision‑making. Provide oversight of the program schedule and budget using Black & Veatch’s internal processes and manage large inter‑discipline teams of internal and subconsultant resources.
  • Lead a team that provides technical solutions and differentiation focused on water supply intakes, pump stations, large‑diameter pipelines, tunnels, wastewater lift stations, force mains, and collections system, including condition assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Provide recommendations on client’s processes, organization, and readiness to embark on major programs and alternative project delivery.
  • Support the team’s use of risk‑based assessments to develop and prioritize capital improvement programs.
  • Provide project execution, quality control, and technical leadership to support large water and wastewater projects and programs and to identify innovative solutions to maximize benefits to municipalities and utilities.
  • Lead and provide technical expertise to support marketing and business development.
  • Support pursuit, proposal, and project interview activities.
  • Work closely with Client Directors and the Area Director to develop relationships with clients and decision makers in Tulsa.
  • Help mentor professionals and grow the team by identifying high quality candidates and recruits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oklahoma
  • 15+ years of relevant water engineering experience including but not limited to water and wastewater infrastructure planning, asset management, CIP optimization, detailed design, and construction
  • Experience managing large water and wastewater programs and projects
  • Knowledge of local, federal and state permitting requirements and funding mechanisms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort in a client‑facing role discussing technical topics and solutions
