Travel & Compensation

This position requires extensive travel, with assignments lasting multiple weeks at a time. Daily per diem and hotel accommodations are provided during travel. Typical work schedule:
Monday‑Saturday, 45‑60 hours per week, with OT rules applying. The role typically includes 1 week off during each travel cycle.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll help protect critical infrastructure by monitoring, testing, and maintaining corrosion control systems. Depending on your experience level, you may assist with basic field testing or lead advanced inspections, troubleshooting, and program management. This position involves fieldwork, travel, and working outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialized inspections to identify corrosion and material degradation.
  • Conduct testing such as ultrasonic thickness measurements, coating inspections, and corrosion rate analysis.
  • Collect and document field data; prepare clear and accurate reports.
  • Assist with or lead corrosion prevention methods, including cathodic protection and coatings.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing and monitoring equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry standards (API, AMPP/NACE, OSHA).
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to support asset integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and SAFETY guidelines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to handle tools and equipment, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to be technically oriented, willing to learn, communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Willingness to work outside and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for insurability.
  • Work is subject to pre‑employment and random DOT drug testing.
  • Basic computer skills including use of spreadsheets and documentation software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical training, associate degree, or certification in corrosion technology, materials science, or a related field.
  • Experience performing corrosion inspections and using related testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as API, AMPP/NACE, and OSHA.
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with corrosion monitoring software and digital data collection.
Certifications
  • AMPP/NACE CP1 certification preferred; required for more experienced roles.
  • AMPP/NACE CP2 certification required for advanced or senior‑level responsibilities.
  • AMPP Coating Inspector Program (CIP) certification preferred.
