Regional Automation Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Focus on optimizing and advancing process technologies within production facilities.
  • Lead engineering teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure processes comply with industry standards and are continuously improved to meet operational goals.
  • Provide ongoing support for multiple seed production facilities in the region.
  • Maintain and improve existing control systems, ensuring equipment reliability, on‑stream time, seed quality, and safety of seed manufacturing operations.
  • Conceive, design, install, start up, and commission medium scale automation/control improvement projects.
  • Lead and drive PLC, HMI programming, and IT management efforts at sites.
  • Become an expert in site production and control system needs and provide technical support.
  • Monitor, trend, identify, and develop solutions to control system issues.
  • Collaborate with other automation engineers to ensure strong network alignment and standardized systems.
  • Mentor automation technicians.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable Technology with 3 years of experience, or 8 years of practical experience such as experience derived from the Automation Technician role at Bayer production plants.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Collaborative team player capable of working well with people across all hierarchies internally and externally.
  • Good organizational and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills such as communication, listening, verbal, and assertiveness.
  • Results‑driven with the ability to manage ambiguity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in automation systems and control technologies.
Compensation and Benefits

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $71,120.00 - $. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
