Job Summary

This role will be based in Tulsa, Oklahoma where the candidate will be responsible for permit, reporting, project, regulatory tracking, and compliance support for air‑related regulatory programs primarily for existing or new power generating stations. Responsibilities will also include periodic air permit and compliance support for other company facilities such as electric transmission and distribution, operating company service centers, office buildings, or other regulated and commercial business operations.

You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and perform compliance and support activities such as permit interpretation, applicability, preparation of applications/modifications, reporting, commenting on draft permits, agency negotiations, complex/advanced data analysis, facility compliance reviews, training sessions, and compliance audits.
  • Serve as an internal expert resource and be highly recognized and regarded by external stakeholders.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement plans to address complex compliance problems requiring input and efforts from a wide array of internal and external entities.
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure responsive support on time‑sensitive or expedited schedules.
  • Identify, resolve, and initiate solutions to unique complex problems, develop specialized knowledge, and create new techniques.
  • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the work group, team, or department, and assume the role of project manager for compliance work.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, prepare and present complex technical subjects persuasively, and advocate for pro‑active regulatory changes.
What We’re Looking For

Qualifications vary by seniority level. The following outlines the requirements for each level:

  • Environmental Engineer SG7 – 4+ years of related engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering program, or 2 years of experience and a master’s degree. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred.
  • Environmental Specialist Senior SG7 – Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, natural resources, or ecology and a minimum of 6 years of environmental experience. Availability for overtime, call‑out overtime, and shift work. 10–25% travel.
  • Environmental Engineer Senior SG8 – 6+ years of related engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering program, or 4 years of experience and a master’s degree. PE registration encouraged.
  • Environmental Specialist Principal SG8 – 8+ years of related engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree, or 6 years of experience and a master’s degree. PE registration required unless waived.
  • Environmental Engineer Principal SG9 – 8+ years of related engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree, or 6 years of experience and a master’s degree. PE registration required.
  • Environmental Specialist, Principal PG 8 – Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of environmental experience.
  • Environmental Specialist Consultant SG9 – Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 18 years of environmental experience.
