Position Summary:
The Process Engineer (PE) will play a key role in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) organization and work directly with staff across the organization. The PE will be responsible for analyzing, designing, optimizing, and improving processes to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and performance. This role works across cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, implement sustainable improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Process Management, Design & Optimization
- Build relationships with stakeholders to analyze current processes to identify pain points including inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste
- Assist CQI and Compliance in designing and implementing improved workflows, systems, policies and procedures
- Develop process maps, models, and documentation for both current and future states
- Develop business process management capabilities including building process frameworks, methodologies and regular reviews
- Apply engineering principles and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variation and improve standardization and quality
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and root causes
- Work with leadership to align and track key performance indicators (KPIs) at the process level to ensure goals are being met
- Use statistical, dashboard and other reporting tools to validate findings, support recommendations and business case studies
- Translate key data findings into actionable recommendations and insights
- Present data insights in supporting initiatives and process recommendations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, Kaizen events, and project teams
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and support corrective/preventive actions
- Design and implement failure mode and effects analysis solutions to minimize high-risk processes
- Develop and communicate SOPs, standards, and best practices to sustain standardization and improvements across locations
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency
- Support initiatives of new systems, technologies, or equipment while designing processes to manage waste
- Participate in testing, training and overall change management activities
Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality guidelines regarding client information
• Ability to work well under pressure meeting deadlines with efficiency and consistency
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees at all levels
• Ability to evaluate situations and adopt an effective course of action, to delegate responsibilities, organize and present facts effectively
• Ability to work and maintain multiple projects in conjunction with the Project Manager
• Ability to work with various systems while maintaining professionalism, maturity, objectivity and a cooperative attitude
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights
• Proficiency with productivity and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, etc.)
• Proficiency with process mapping and analysis tools (Visio, Miro)
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Willingness to further Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt or Master Black Belt)
• Experience supporting projects in a business, healthcare, technology, or operations environment
• Experience in continuous improvement, operations, or quality engineering
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of workflow tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro)
• Willingness to travel to various locations throughout the organization on a regular basis
