Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems in microgrids, solar power plants, and power plants. This role demands expertise in power systems to ensure efficient, safe, and scalable energy solutions.

• Design and optimize electrical distribution and transmission systems for power plants and microgrids.
• Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination analyses.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Integrate renewable energy sources, such as solar, into existing power infrastructures.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations for new projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure seamless system integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), and safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.

• Master s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, Bachelor’s degree accepted.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with extensive hands-on work in power systems, microgrids, electrical distribution systems, and transmission system designs.
• Proficiency in software tools such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, or PSCAD for electrical modeling and simulation.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy integration, grid stability, and energy storage systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage project timelines.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

• Experience with solar power plant design and high-voltage systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, protective relaying, and automation controls.
• Familiarity with sustainable energy practices and tribal energy projects.
• Experience working on energy projects in California (preferred).
