Manufacturing Engineer
Manufacturing Planners develop and maintain production build plans based on customer Bills of Material (BOM) and engineering requirements. They integrate these plans into Accurus Aerospace Tulsa’s manufacturing operations to ensure alignment with materials, equipment, and resource availability. The Manufacturing Planner ensures the efficient production of aerospace components while meeting established delivery schedules, cost objectives, and quality standards.
Essential Functions- Review and validate data entered in the Quote Master Import Tool for accuracy
- Generates accurate and precise planning based on engineering drawings, purchase orders, and vendor configuration data.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement effective rework plans
- Prepare comprehensive technical information packages for aerospace parts and assemblies
- Coordinate closely with Programming to develop and implement repeatable, efficient manufacturing processes aligned with customer design specifications.
- Create Master Routers in the ERP system per engineering data, defining materials, BOMs, and special processes
- Develop and maintain process documentation—work instructions, travelers, and routings—to ensure full traceability from raw material to final product
- Ensure all manufacturing processes and documentation comply with industry standards, including AS9100, Nadcap, and applicable FAA regulations
- Provide production support through issue resolution and process improvement initiatives
- Support and guide compliance audits and continuous improvement initiatives including RCCA support
A bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is required; a combination of specialized training and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Other RequiredSkills and Abilities
- Knowledge of aerospace finishing and processing requirements, including heat treat, coatings, and surface treatments
- Strong understanding of aerospace machining practices, specifications, and CNC processes
- Familiarity with milling operations, cutting tools, and part programming fundamentals
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
- Basic proficiency with CAD systems (e.g., CATIA, Vericut)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Previous aerospace industry experience is preferred.
- Sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
- Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, including all buildings and the manufacturing areas; occasionally navigating rough or uneven terrain
- Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally climb steps, stairs, or ladders
- Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
- Constantly communicate verbally and in writing (English) using a phone, textsor other messaging, and email
- Visual acuity to accurately interpret precision measuring instruments and todistinguish colors to assess and accurately respond to sensors, indicators, and color‑variable dashboards
- Use hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards and peripherals, measurement instruments, and to physically examine manufactured parts
- Moderate noise (regularly); excessive noise, hearing protection required (occasionally)
- Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors and hazardous chemicals or materials (regularly)
- Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
- Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, complex machining centers, and other equipment used in a machine shopenvironment (occasionally)
