Operations Engineer III – GAC Tulsa
Under moderate supervision, the Operations Engineer III provides direct technical support to manufacturing operations and internal customers. The role develops procedures and processes to streamline and optimize manufacturing operations, interfaces with external suppliers for supplier‑related issues, and provides guidance and mentoring to entry‑level OE staff members.
Responsibilities- Provide and maintain detailed work instructions for assigned manufacturing processes; drive quality, efficiency, and material presentation improvements; manage daily work plans; provide metrics for quality and schedule performance; coordinate engineering and tooling changes as required to meet Operations goals.
- Perform RCCA analyses on quality defects, ensuring that average mechanics can complete tasks first time with no rejections.
- Conduct technical studies of complex operations, defining equipment/tooling needs and correct methods of manufacturing, including sequence of operations and detailed methodology for complex assemblies and installations.
- Contribute to planning, development, and coordination of significant manufacturing and engineering projects aimed at process development and improvement.
- Perform producibility studies from engineering drawings to identify opportunities to enhance manufacturing capability; participate in Design for Manufacturing assessments with Engineering.
- Determine and develop individual approaches to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
- Provide training to OE I and OE II staff on work methods, procedures, and efficient use of company resources to resolve work‑related or quality problems.
- Independently lead/coordinate implementation of projects across multiple organizations.
- Apply Lean principles to manufacturing methods as a team member or leader; incorporate Lean Manufacturing methodology into existing and future processes.
- Support all Safety, Sustainability, and Ergonomic initiatives.
- Aid in development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plan.
- Work under moderate supervision with minimal review needed for alignment with organizational strategy and overall objectives.
- Ensure quality policies are practiced; recommend and implement procedures to improve quality.
- Initiate and maintain accurate daily/weekly activity status based on work output.
- Serve as Operations Manager substitute when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related curriculum. Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential functions. Minimum 4 years of manufacturing, design engineering, or related technical experience.
