Overview

Sim Ventions is a 100% employee‑owned company. We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to independently run an Electronics and Printed Circuit Board production and prototype facility for engineering development and low‑rate production efforts.

Location:

Dahlgren Naval Base. On‑base presence required.

Clearance

A Secret Clearance is required to start, with eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI within one year. US Citizenship required.

Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years experience as an electrical engineering technician.
  • Experience operating four or more of the following manufacturing equipment: solder stencil printer, pick & place machine, solder reflow oven, automated optical inspection station, x‑ray inspection machine, prototype PCB milling machine, selective soldering machine, BGA rework station.
  • Rigorous hand soldering experience with component sizes 0201, BGA, LGA, and QFN.
Responsibilities
  • Perform moderately complex engineering technician support assignments.
  • Construct and build devices and simple equipment.
  • Construct developmental and production models following layouts and diagrams.
  • Conduct tests and experiments requiring non‑standard setups and procedures.
  • Extract and compile data from field notes, technical manuals, lab reports, and bench tests.
  • Develop information about operational failures and modifications.
  • Perform complex aspects of function; receive guidance/supervision on new assignments but normally work independently on mastered tasks.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician.
  • Independent operation of an electronics production laboratory.
  • Experience with all of the following manufacturing equipment: solder stencil printer, pick & place machine, solder reflow oven, automated optical inspection machine, x‑ray inspection machine, PCB mill (prototyping), selective soldering machine, BGA rework station.
Education

High School Degree or higher.

Compensation

Projected annual range: $70,000 – $120,000 (USD).
