HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
Reporting to the Chief or Senior Engineer:
This position is responsible for (but not limited to) the operation, maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment required to supply the hospital complex with electrical power, water, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, medical air, medical gases, medical vacuum, steam, soft water, plumbing, and physical plant. Ensure that all HVAC equipment is in good working order and that the physical plant and mechanical rooms are in a safe working environment at all times.
Monitor and control boilers and chillers necessary for heating and air‑conditioning of hospital buildings. Ensure generators supplying electrical power to machinery and auxiliary equipment continue to operate in good condition. Notify and assist the Chief or Senior Engineer with equipment shut‑downs, repairs, and major maintenance. Ensure that the Preventive Maintenance Program (Work Orders) assigned to them are completed or closed out by the end of the shift or reported to Senior Engineer and logged into the logbook of open status.
Perform minor or major repairs when necessary on all facility‑related equipment. Respond to all trouble calls and maintenance requests for the hospital or facility.
Education:
High school or GED required
- First Class Stationary Unlimited License (preferred)
- Stationary Limited license required
1-3 years minimum experience (required)
