Job Summary
The Geotechnical Senior Engineer I must possess a strong technical background and sound engineering judgement which will be applied in the development of proposals and technical deliverables for a diverse range of projects, primarily in the industrial sector.
Essential Functions- Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values"

- Works collaboratively in a team environment; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner
- Prepares scope of work documents for geotechnical investigations and site‑specific seismic studies
- Coordinates efforts of geotechnical subconsultants and field soil boring locations
- Reviews geotechnical reports and site‑specific seismic reports prepared by consultants
- Advise and coordinate with foundation engineers to optimize foundation solutions
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles for shallow and deep foundations
- Working knowledge of soil improvement techniques
- Performs field activities, such as observing and documenting existing conditions, observing and documenting soil conditions during excavations and foundation placement
- Prepares foundation settlement calculations
- Prepares slope stability calculations
Prepares evaluations for liquefaction potential - Performs design of retaining walls and prepares scope of work for mechanically stabilized earthen retaining walls
- Applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area
- Formulates and solves problems
- Provide input for proposals regarding geotechnical requirements
- Receives general direction on key objectives
- Assists in preparation of proposals
- Coordinates with engineers, designers and administrative staff
- Interacts with PM, client, customers, officials, contractors and others
- Performs other related duties, as directed
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
- 6+ years engineering experience in geotechnical engineering of industrial facilities such as gas plants, liquid terminals, LNG facilities, chemical plants, and bulk material handling facilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time sensitive deadlines
- Detail oriented, committed to quality
- Demonstrates a proactive approach and consistently positive demeanor
- Knowledge of codes and standards relevant to geotechnical design (ASCE-7, IBC, e.g.)
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft WORD and Excel
- Occasional overtime and travel may be required
Bachelor's Degree of Civil Engineering (required)
