Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead or Senior Mechanical System Design Engineer to join a fast-growing engineering and project management firm specializing in industrial, energy, and food processing facilities.
This is a key technical leadership role based in Tulsa, OK where you will take ownership of mechanical system design while guiding project execution across complex industrial environments.
With a strong pipeline of work across manufacturing, food processing, oil & gas, and energy sectors, this is an opportunity to step into a high-impact engineering role with leadership visibility and long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide mechanical system engineering and design for HVAC, plumbing, utility, and process systems in industrial and manufacturing facilities (food & beverage experience preferred)
- Design and size compressed air, steam, pumps, process heating, high/low-pressure water, chilled water, wastewater, vacuum, and thermal fluid systems
- Develop engineering calculations, system layouts, and designs using AutoCAD 2D and Revit 3D
- Lead and mentor mechanical engineering team members, supporting technical development and project delivery
- Conduct field evaluations and gather site information (15–20% travel required)
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project execution
- Deliver work within agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards while continuously improving processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Active PE license in Mechanical Engineering required
- 10–20 years of experience in facility mechanical system design (HVAC, plumbing, and utilities)
- Strong knowledge of ASME codes and USDA, FDA, OSHA, and ASHRAE standards
- Proficiency in system design, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Strong AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality
