We have an immediate, critical opportunity for a Civil PE to join our firm and lead our water and sanitation infrastructure initiatives. This is a high-impact role for an engineer with a proven track record in municipal utility design, specifically pump stations, sanitary lift stations, and water storage systems. We are looking for a technical expert who can spearhead design projects for municipal and rural areas, providing precise engineering solutions.

Additional benefits include medical plans, dental, vision, employee life insurance, 401(k), Flexible Spending Accounts, paid time off, paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

Utility Infrastructure Design: Lead the design of water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and onsite wastewater treatment facilities for residential, industrial, and commercial developments.

Hydraulic Modeling: Perform advanced hydraulic analysis for water age, pressure, and fire flow, as well as gravity sewer capacity modeling.

Pump Station Engineering: Design and specify lift stations, booster pump stations, and associated mechanical/electrical components.

Regulatory & Environmental Liaison: Lead the permitting process with state environmental agencies (e.g., DEQ, EPA, or DNR) and local utility districts to secure construction and operating permits.

Site Development Integration: Work closely with the grading and drainage teams to ensure utility layouts are optimized for the overall site plan and earthwork constraints.

Client & Agency Representation: Act as the primary technical point of contact for utility providers and municipal stakeholders during project reviews and public meetings.

Mentorship: Supervise and review the work of EITs and designers, specifically focusing on utility profiles, pipe stress analysis, and specifications.

Technical Expertise Required

Hydraulic Calculations: Proficiency in calculating head loss, NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head), and peak hourly demands.

Master Planning: Experience creating Utility Master Plans for large-scale developments (100+ acres).

Sustainability: Integration of water reuse systems or low-impact development (LID) utility solutions where applicable.

Qualifications

Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Experience: 5–10 years in Civil Engineering, with at least 4 years focused specifically on water/wastewater design within land development.

Software Proficiency: Mastery of AutoCAD Civil 3D (specifically Pressure Pipe and Gravity Pipe networks). Experience with WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, or EPAnet is highly preferred.

Education: B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
