We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Systems Engineer to join our L3
Harris Systems Engineering team. As a core member of the Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for requirements management, design verification test planning and execution, and maturing the Digital Engineering / MBSE design on a software project team. Experience with Software Engineering is a must, while image processing, or EO/IR contexts is a plus.
- Develop system architecture, requirements, and specifications based on customer needs and technical constraints for a software system.
- Develop integration and test plans and procedures that verify system performance against the functional software requirements of a system.
- Support testing and integration needs through software engineering (experience with OOP).
- Troubleshooting skills at both a system and module level, including potential for software and hardware faults.
- Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define, analyze, and validate system models and simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including image processing engineers, software developers, and project engineers, to ensure seamless integration of algorithms and real-time software.
- Conduct system-level down to module-level tests and evaluations to verify performance, identify issues, and propose solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to systems engineering.
- Create professional, data-driven presentations for briefing technical decisions or recommendations to internal stakeholders and external vendors/customers.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience;
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience;
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. - Preferred Additional
Skills:- Knowledge and experience in advanced Optical Systems, EO/IR Sensors, or ISR applications.
- Proficiency in hardware/software integration.
- Experience with BDD (Behavior Driven SW Development).
- Background in developing systems model and modeling software architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Cameo Systems Modeler, Magic Draw, or similar SysML development tool.
- Experience with Agile Scrum methodology and tools.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, scripting languages, data-loggers, or advanced Excel data analyses.
- Knowledge and experience in the Aerospace/Defense sector.
- Environmental Testing / Qualification (ESS) experience.
- Experience working under an AS9100 / ISO
9001 Quality Management System. - Familiarity with INCOSE and the Systems Engineering Book of Knowledge (SEBOK).
- Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field.
- Verification and Validation (V&V) experience or Integration and Test (I&T) experience and use of test planning tools (e.g., Lab View, Test Stand).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplined integrated product team (IPT).
- Applicant must have a willingness to relocate to the Tulsa, OK area.
- Applicant must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
