American Power Innovations is seeking a BIM/CAD/VDC Technician (Drafter) to support the design and development of power distribution centers (PDCs) and modular electrical systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Create and maintain detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for modular PDC systems
  • Support electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering teams with BIM/CAD modeling
  • Assist in the development of power distribution equipment layouts, assemblies, and components
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation and drawing revisions
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and project teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with project requirements
  • Update models and drawings based on engineering changes and production feedback
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD (required)
  • 2+ years of drafting/modeling experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments preferred
  • Familiarity with modular construction, electrical systems, or PDCs is a plus
  • Strong understanding of BIM/CAD standards and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
