Role
Description:
The Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, analysis, and implementation of fired equipment solutions for customers in refining, petrochemical, and power markets. Day-to-day activities include reviewing technical specifications, performing engineering calculations and simulations, assisting with equipment selection, and preparing technical documentation and proposals. The role involves collaborating closely with engineering, project management, and procurement teams to ensure solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The Application Engineer will also provide technical support to clients, participate in testing and troubleshooting efforts, and contribute to continual improvement of tools and processes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tulsa, OK or Amsterdam, NL.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to fired equipment and industrial systems.
- Experience with Technical Support, including diagnosing equipment or system issues and communicating solutions clearly to internal teams and customers.
- Exposure to Testing and validation of equipment or software, including developing test plans, interpreting results, and documenting findings.
- Familiarity with Software Development or engineering software tools (e.g., analysis, modeling, or automation) to support design and application engineering tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Experience in refining, petrochemical, power, or combustion/heater systems is beneficial.
