  • Heavy steel structure drafting experience
  • Familiarity with general arrangement drawings, detailed fabrication drawings, demolition drawings, erection drawings, and other drawings typical to the oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of industry standard checking procedures and ability to oversee and check design work
  • Familiarity with design and drafting standards such as ASME, AWS, ASTM and AISC

  • Construction management experience
  • Experience with FEA, CFD, or structural engineering a plus

We are looking for a person with good communication and critical thinking skills and who has plenty of initiative and a desire to constantly develop and improve products and processes. A motivated team player who can work independently and take the lead on projects. Some sporadic travel may be required.

  • Participate as a member of the Mechanical Design group, focused on improving current processes and taking XRG into the future with tools and methodologies that sets it apart from others
  • Mechanical Designer reporting directly to the Design Engineering Manager
  • Design and develop design standards to effectively meet project requirements and resolve problems
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, process engineering, external manufacturing companies, and customers to understand market needs and constraints while balancing company objectives
