The Development Engineer plays a critical role in researching, developing, sustaining, and troubleshooting high-performance components for an industry-leading company. This role requires applying strong engineering principles to drive innovation, improve reliability, and support severe-duty applications.
The Development Engineer will own the full technical product development lifecycle—from initial concept through product launch—while providing technical support to internal teams and customers. Success in this role requires collaborative problem-solving, cross-functional teamwork, and a commitment to delivering robust, high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Research, design, and develop advanced pump assemblies and components.
- Lead engineering efforts from concept generation through product launch.
- Troubleshoot and sustain existing products to enhance performance and reliability.
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer support teams to meet project goals.
- Ensure all designs meet performance, quality, and durability standards for severe-duty environments.
Duties & Responsibilities Product & Technology Innovation
- Execute R&D initiatives to identify new technologies, materials, and design methods for the oil and gas industry.
- Conduct research, concept development, prototyping, design validation, and final product development.
- Continuously improve existing designs and specifications to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Lead product failure investigations; conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
- Resolve manufacturing issues affecting current product lines and support efficient production processes.
- Work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, commercial teams, and leadership to define project requirements, allocate resources, and deliver results on time and on budget.
- Communicate directly with customers—from field locations to corporate offices—to understand challenges and provide technical expertise.
- Gather Voice of Customer (VOC) information to drive product improvements and new product development.
- Manage engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Apply expert analytical skills to address product design, process, and application issues.
- 2D drawings and 3D models
- Design and manufacturing specifications

- Product BOMs and manuals
- Stay up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and engineering best practices through ongoing learning and professional development.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting mechanical failures, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff across all departments and levels.
- Strong communication skills with customers in both office and field (frac site) environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), Autodesk Inventor, and SAP.
- Strong skills in 3D modeling, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
- Ability to travel 10–15% within North America.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 5+ years of experience in product development and engineering support.
