Thispositionisresponsibleforevaluatingbidopportunities,reviewingplansandspecifications,completingdetailedtakeoffs,obtainingvendorandsubcontractorpricing,identifyingprojectrisks,anddevelopingcompletebidproposals.

The Senior Estimatorwillalsosupportprojectplanning ,mentorestimatingteammembers,andhelpimprovethecompany’sestimatingstandardsandprocesses.

Theidealcandidatehasextensiveknowledgeofelectricalconstruction,stronganalyticalandorganizationalskills,andtheabilitytodevelopcompetitiveestimateswithoutsacrificingprojectquality,safety,or profitability.

• Reviewprojectplans,specifications,addenda,schedules,andotherbiddocumentstodeterminethecompleteelectricalscopeofwork.
• Preparedetailedmaterialandlabortakeoffsforcommercialandindustrialelectricalprojects.
• Developestimatesforlighting,power distribution,switch gear,generators,firealarm,low-voltage systems,siteelectricalwork,underground infrastructure,andrelatedelectricalsystems.
• Analyzelaborrequirements,material costs,equipment needs,subcontractor pricing,project schedules,andsiteconditions.
• Solicit,review,andcompareproposalsfromvendorsandsubcontractors.
• Identify exclusions,clarifications,alternates,allowances,value-engineering opportunities,andpotentialprojectrisks.
• Preparecompleteandprofessionalbidproposals,scope letters,andsupportingdocumentation.
• Attendpre-bid meetings,site visits,bid reviews,andprojectplanningmeetings.
• Coordinatewithcompanyleadershiptodetermineprojectapproach,staffing requirements,overhead,fee,andbidstrategy.
• Maintainrelationshipswithgeneralcontractors,vendors,suppliers,subcontractors,engineers,andotherindustrypartners.
• Trackbidresultsandanalyzeestimatedcostscomparedwithactualprojectperformance.
• Participateintheturnoverofawardedprojectsfromestimatingtoprojectmanagementandfieldoperations.
• Clearlycommunicateprojectscope,assumptions,risks,andkeycostconsiderationsduringprojecthandoffmeetings.
• Assistprojectmanagerswithchange-orderestimatesandcostevaluationsasneeded.
• Maintainorganizedandcompleteestimatingfiles,pricing information,historicalcostdata,andbidrecords.
• Helpdevelopandmaintainestimatingtemplates,labor units,cost databases,bid procedures,and quality-control standards.
• Monitormarketconditions,labor rates,material pricing,supply-chain concerns,andindustrytrendsthatmayaffectprojectcosts.
• Reviewtheworkofotherestimatorsandprovideguidance,training,and mentorship.
• Support Third Generation Electric ’sgrowthbyidentifyingappropriatebidopportunitiesandhelpingthecompanypursueprofitable,strategicallyalignedprojects.
• Performotherdutiesasassigned.

• Minimumof5yearsofelectricalconstructionestimating,project management,orrelatedexperience.
• Strongknowledgeofcommercialandindustrialelectricalconstructionmethods,materials,labor requirements,and sequencing.
• Abilitytoreadandinterpretelectricaldrawings,specifications,one-line diagrams,schedules,contracts,andtechnicaldocuments.
• Thoroughunderstandingofthe National Electrical Codeandapplicableconstructionstandards .
• Experiencecompletingdetailedelectricaltakeoffsandpreparingmultimillion-dollarprojectestimates.
• Strongknowledgeofelectricalsystems,including lighting,power distribution,switch gear,emergency power,firealarm,low-voltage systems,andundergroundelectricalwork.
• Proficiencywithelectricalestimatingsoftware,digitaltakeoffprograms,Microsoft Excel,andotherstandardbusinessapplications.
• Abilitytomanagemultipleestimates,deadlines,andcompetingpriorities.
• Strong mathematical,analytical,problem-solving,and decision-making skills.
• Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills.
• Abilitytoworkindependentlywhilecollaboratingeffectivelywithcompanyleadership,project managers,field leaders,vendors,and customers.
• Highlevelofaccuracy,attentiontodetail,integrity,and accountability.
• Valid driver’slicenseandabilitytotraveltoprojectsitesandpre-bidmeetingsasneeded.
