Primary Responsibilities / Duties
- Prepare and Update P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) to develop scope of work and create technical bid summaries on projects.
- Specify and procure Electrical Control Equipment including PLC, HMI and related Panel Components per project requirements
- Prepare Project Electrical & Controls Design Deliverables including Cause & Effect Matrices, Control Narratives, PLC I/O Lists and Serial Modbus I/O Lists.
- Design and develop electrical wiring schematics, BOM (Bill of Materials) and Panel Layout drawings per appropriate code requirements (NEC and NFPA).
- Perform Control System Engineering studies including conceptual design of new systems and control system retrofits.
- Appropriately size components like Relays, Circuit Breakers, Power Supplies, Fuses, and electrical cables per project specifications.
- Develop PLC and HMI programs using Allen Bradley, Triconex and other software solutions for Burner Management Systems (BMS) and SCR DeNOx Modules.
- Develop Factory / Site Acceptance procedures for equipment and perform testing
- Provide technical support including participation in HAZOP/PHA/SIL studies and prepare operating and maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of instrumentation and electrical codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, CSA, ISA, UL, ATEX and IEC
- Participate in Start---Up, Commissioning and trouble---shooting activities at job site
