Tax Services Senior Manager – State & Local Income Tax, EDGE

Join EY in the Financial Services Organization (FSO) as a Senior Manager in State and Local Tax (SALT). The role focuses on supporting hedge fund, private equity, banking and real estate clients with state and local tax compliance, planning and advisory services.

Location: Anywhere in Country

• Analyze complex tax operations and provide meaningful business insights.
• Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate these to clients.
• Research current market trends and maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
• Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities.
• Build long‑lasting relationships with clients’ business operations to tailor advice.
• Supervise a motivated team of professionals, ensuring they reach their full potential.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
• CPA, licensed Attorney, or EA preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years professional experience in state and local income/franchise tax.
• Experience managing budgets, people, and projects.
• Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
• Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
• Strong influencing skills and ability to influence existing processes.

• Experience in a wealth and asset management firm or similar professional services environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro.
• Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Adaptability working with internal and client team members.
