At Paul Hood, we are transforming the mid-market CPA industry with an entirely new model. Our year-round membership model provides clients with expert tax and financial guidance, helping them feel more secure and realize their long-term financial goals. Founded 30 years ago by Paul Hood, our company has grown rapidly and now serves over 15,000 customers nationwide. To support our continued growth, we have completely modernized our business with technology and processes more akin to a SaaS company than a CPA firm.
In response to this growth, we are seeking a Tax Consultant to serve as a player‑coach—preparing and reviewing tax returns while mentoring Staff Preparers. In this role, you’ll help support day‑to‑day tax operations, assist in staff development, and build strong relationships with clients. You’ll also partner with the Senior Tax Consultants to lead tax initiatives and ensure high‑quality, timely service across a range of individual and business engagements.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in individual and business tax preparation, staff mentoring and development, client communication, tax issue resolution, and project management.
To do this well, you’ll need to be detail‑driven, highly organized, and confident interacting with clients’ complex tax situations. You’ll bring a calm, solution‑oriented mindset to a fast‑paced environment and be ready to guide others, contribute to tax planning strategies, and maintain strong client relationships. You’ll also need to demonstrate professionalism, expertise in specialized areas of tax, and a passion for developing others.
