As a Cost Specialist at QISG, you will be a key member of the Project Controls team, responsible for monitoring project financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. You'll develop and maintain budgets, track actual costs, perform variance analysis, prepare forecasts, and provide leadership with accurate reporting to support strategic decision-making. Your work will directly contribute to the successful execution of large-scale utility, power generation, and renewable energy EPC projects across North America.
WhatYou'll Do
- Track, analyze, and control costs for EPC energy and utility infrastructure projects, including transmission, substations, and renewables
- Manage budgets, forecasts, EACs, and ETCs across multi-year projects
- Monitor cost deviations, trends, and risks, escalating issues proactively
- Support change management, including change orders, budget transfers, and cost impacts
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to align financials with execution plans
- Prepare clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standards
- Leverage JDE, Eco Sys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for accurate job cost tracking
- Act as a trusted cost advisor, driving continuous improvement in project financial performance
- 2+ years of project cost control, job costing, or project controls experience within EPC, construction, utilities, or energy/infrastructure projects
- Hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget control, change management, and cost/risk analysis
- Experience in project-based environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or Eco Sys , Procore preferred
- Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance , or equivalent experience
- Willing to travel up to 10% domestically
