System One is partnering with a client seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee fuel and sales tax compliance, reporting, audits, and tax-related initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing tax filings, supporting business operations with tax guidance, and leading a team of tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities
+ Motor fuel excise tax returns
+ Sales tax returns
+ Tax rate updates for billing
+ Responding timely to customer inquiries related to tax rates, exemptions, etc.
+ Leading fuel and sales tax audits with states and the IRS
+ Review of tax diligence reports for potential acquisitions
+ Manages 2-4 analysts
+ In office 5 days a week
Qualifications
+ Strong experience with sales tax and/or fuel tax compliance.
+ Experience managing tax audits
+ Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Prior leadership or team management experience preferred.
+ Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday.
