- Manage all aspects of grant accounting, including pre-award and post-award activities, financial reporting, revenue and expense analysis, reconciliations, and compliance monitoring.
- Partner with department leaders to develop and review annual operating budgets while providing guidance and training to new managers on budgeting tools and processes.
- Evaluate budget submissions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with organizational goals and financial assumptions.
- Participate in budget planning discussions and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyze monthly actual-to-budget performance, identify variances, and recommend opportunities for improved financial planning and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present complex financial analyses, forecasts, and reports to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Compile, interpret, and summarize financial data to support financial statement reviews and maintain accurate reporting deliverables.
- Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to research and resolve accounting and financial reporting issues.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with established deadlines and accounting standards.
- Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, audits, and other finance-related activities as assigned.
- Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making in managing priorities, analyzing financial information, and resolving complex accounting matters.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, grant requirements, and applicable accounting regulations.
