  • Maintain arrest record entries for the Criminal History Database System, ensuring accurate data for law‑enforcement, court, and agency access.
  • Use the Patrol Criminal History and other criminal justice databases, telephone, fax, and teletype systems to disseminate criminal history information.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships between the Nebraska State Patrol and criminal justice agencies and public customers.
  • Conduct Nebraska‑based criminal history background checks and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency with computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Valid driver’s license or independent authorized transportation.
  • U.S. citizenship or immigration status that permits employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in entering and maintaining alpha and numeric fields, customer service, and use of personal computers and office equipment.
  • Criminal justice background experience or a degree in Criminal Justice.
  • Working knowledge of Nebraska computerized criminal justice systems such as PCH, JUSTICE, NCJIS.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing tools, spreadsheets, office equipment, and computer hardware.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and customer‑service skills.
  • Exceptional ability to handle inbound and outbound calls from customers and agencies.
Additional Requirements
  • A required background check based on fingerprints.
  • Completing a Personal History Questionnaire as part of the extensive screening process.
  • Licensing to utilize the Combined Law Enforcement Information Network (CLEIN) Message Switch and compliance with CJIS policies and 28 CFR 20.36.
