Primary Purpose of Job
Cares for patients under the direction of the Clinic Manager, Advanced Practitioners, Regional Medical Director, and in compliance with Med Wise’s philosophy as well as standards of practice and regulations of government agencies, while creating and maintaining a positive patient experience.
Position Responsibilities- Clinical Care and Customer Service
- Provides healthcare in collaboration with medical care team.
- Appropriately addresses patient requests for accommodations to facilitate accessible and inclusive care.
- Prepares patient for and assists with examinations in a manner which promotes the delivery of high-quality patient-focused health care services.
- Performs required vitals, collects patient complaints, medication information, and other encounter specific EMR details.
- Interview patients to obtain history, including but not limited to medical, surgical, family, and social history.
- Administer injections and medications, conduct tests/diagnostics, perform radiologic imaging, and dress wounds/incisions.
- Completes ordered CLIA-waived laboratory testing according to manufacturer’s instructions and company policy and procedures.
- Maintains patient medical records, medical reports, and other records.
- Interprets Providers discharge instructions to patients.
- Performs other duties as requested by medical care team.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, clinical areas, and disinfect rooms according to company policies and regulations of government agencies.
- Provide consistent and efficient customer service using empathy, compassion, and good judgement.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for designated areas, ensuring comfort and satisfaction for patients.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations to maintain patient’s rights to privacy by not discussing privileged information and always preserving the patient’s dignity.
- Complies with all required trainings at the specified timings.

- Pursue self‑improvement through becoming familiar with new policies and procedures, participating in training, orientation, staff development programs, and compliance/certification maintenance.
- Perform Patient Experience Coordinator duties to ensure efficient and effective patient flow.
- Perform opening/closing procedures in accordance with standard procedures of Med Wise.
- Completes Daily Assigned Worksheet tasks as assigned.
- Answer phone calls and patient inquiries timely and professionally as well as conduct patient follow up phone calls and patient referral phone calls as indicated.
- Maintain stock of supplies in patient rooms and report/track low supply inventory to Clinic Manager.
- Understand, promote, and operate by overall company vision, mission, values, goals, objectives, and strategies.
- Participate in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.
- Promote harmony, teamwork, leadership, good supervisory and employee relations through example.
- Works amicably with leadership team in providing appropriate feedback regarding all issues including patient care, clinical issues, facility issues, operational issues, and staff issues.
- Clinic assignments will be at the discretion of management and clinic employees may be assigned to different clinics on different days.
- Assignments of clinic hours, including evenings and weekends will be at the discretion of management.
- Must review Med Wise electronic communications.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required education/license/certification:
- High school graduate / GED / vocational training equivalency.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification OR must obtain within the specified timeframe per Med Wise policy.
- Valid state/government issued identification.
- Medical Assistant education in progress or certification OR
- May be substituted for 6 months with direct patient care in a clinical setting in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or an ambulatory care setting as a Medical Assistant, certified Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic. Nurse education in progress with completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing, or equivalent, of an accredited nursing school.
