Social Services Specialist

Salary
  • Level I H20A: $36,811.95 + Full State Employee Benefits
  • Level II H20B: $39,571.76 + Full State Employee Benefits

Travel is occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Minimum Qualifications

Social Services Specialist I

  • A Bachelor s Degree
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in professional social work for each year of the required education

Social Services Specialist II

  • A Master s degree;
  • OR a Bachelor s degree and one year of experience in professional social work;
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and social work, substituting one year of professional social work for each year of the required education.
Job Responsibilities

Summary:

This position reviews and authorizes service plans for all ADvantage Waiver applicants with need for assistance to remain in their homes to prevent institutionalization. This position will be analyzing service plans by determining that all necessary documentation, coding, signatures, and service standards are accurate and complete per service plan authorization processes.

  • Identify and communicate, in writing, to provider agencies, incomplete or inaccurate submissions by the creation of service plan conditions.
  • Identify and forward potential health and safety issues to clinical staff for review.
  • Independently review a minimum of 170 service plan submissions per week.
  • Write and communicate information in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully navigate computer systems within the service plan authorization unit.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants with previous experience with the ADvantage Program.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 15 lbs for transporting computer.
  • Must have stable and reliable home internet (not a hot spot) for telework and/or be required to work in office.
