Position: Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,790 per week

Job Details

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implements and monitors patient care plans.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Job Requirements

Must have current nursing license verified within 30 days prior to start.
Pharmacology 1 or 2 exam required prior to start and updated every 3 years thereafter with minimum 80% score.
Completion of Ascension Medical Surgical Exam prior to start and updated every 3 years thereafter with minimum 80% score.
Completion of Ascension Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics within a year of start and updated every 3 years.
Documentation of required vaccinations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza Vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, and TB testing as specified.
Fit Test required annually.
Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment and updated annually thereafter.
Criminal background checks and employment verifications as required.
Ascension Skills Checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually for specialty.

Additional Details

Must be AHA certified for BLS.
Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start.
Pharmacology and Medical Surgical exams require minimum 80% score with only 2 attempts allowed.
Ascension Unit Specific Checklist is optional for onboarding but needs to be uploaded by unit leader within a week.
Pre-Hire Modules required for Non-Allied Positions to be completed prior to clearance.
Cerner test results and Training Checklist with signed attestation required.
Resume or Profile and at least two professional references required.
Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other background checks required within 30 days of first assignment.
12 panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
