Responsibilities
- Ensure all specimens are collected accurately and on time, following established procedures for specimen collection, venipuncture, urine, EKG, and pre‑employment drug screening.
- Complete and submit all application packets, paperwork, and specimen logs; upload and close cases in the portal within 24 hours on weekdays and 48 hours on weekends.
- Package specimens for transport and ship to the appropriate lab; transport all supplies and equipment safely.
- Maintain records of each specimen collected, support record deletion, and provide customer service to clients.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, safety, compliance, quality assurance, and highway/automobile procedures.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs and keep error rate at no more than 3%.
- Confirm exams with clients, correct non‑applicant errors within 24 hours, submit accurate time, travel, and expense logs as directed.
- Follow grooming, dress code, and lab coat policies; wear identification badge; adhere to attendance guidelines; respond to calls courteously.
- Ensure work areas are neat, maintain supplies, and report/assist with repair, inventory counts, and SOP implementation.
- Assist manager with technical information distribution, serve as mentor to new employees, and participate in teams and special projects as needed.
- Travel up to 25 miles and maintain availability per scheduling requirements.
- Use company iPad or specified electronic device; perform other department‑related clerical duties as assigned.
- Minimum 100 documented successful blood draws.
- Minimum one‑year phlebotomy experience; pediatric and geriatric patient experience is a plus.
- Preferred urine or hair follicle collection and EKG experience.
- Sitting and standing for periods of time.
- Driving to and from assignments; must have valid driver license and clean driving record.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Multitasking; flexibility for weekend, holiday, and overtime work. On‑call duties may be required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organization and ability to manage patient and employee concerns professionally.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.
- Decision‑making based on established procedures with good judgment.
- Can work in a rapidly changing environment.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Licenses & Certifications- Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.
