Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients in a medical office setting. This role is responsible for performing front-office administrative functions, including patient reception, registration, scheduling support, and billing-related activities. The position plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience and supporting efficient clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Perform front-office reception duties, including answering phones and directing inquiries.
  • Support billing and payment collection processes in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to facilitate efficient patient flow.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service, medical office, or front-desk experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems is a plus.
Licensure / Certifications
  • No licensure or certifications required.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and insurance verification is beneficial.
