General

Purpose:

Underdirectsupervisionofaregistered Occupational Therapistprovidesand /or assistsintheprovision ofrehabilitativeanddevelopmental therapy and support servicesforresidents.

Facilitatesthelearningofskillsandfunctionsessential to regaining physical ormental capabilities or successfully adjusting to physical and/or mental disabilities

Thisfacilityexpectstheirassociates topromoteanatmosphere of teamwork with other associates and hospitality and comfort for its residents. Therefore, the following list of duties is not all-inclusive:

• Assistinplanning,organizes,andconductsoccupationaltherapy programsunderthedirectguidanceofaregistered Occupational Therapist.
• Treatsand/orassistsintreatment,advisement, andeducationofpatients and families as appropriate to specific physical, mental, and/or developmental disabilities.
• Monitorspatientprogressthroughouttreatment;preparesandmaintains records and reports as appropriate, ensuring adherence to procedural safeguards and confidentiality requirements.
• Maintainconfidentialityofresidentandfacilityrecords/information
• Protectresidentsfromneglect,mistreatment,andabuse

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy
• Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Organizedanddetailedinworkperformance.
• Goodcommunicationskillswithexcellentself-disciplineandpatience.
• Genuine caringforandinterestinelderlyanddisabledpeopleinanursingfacility.
