Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (Orthopedics Preferred)
Tulsa, OK
Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $19.00/hour
Are you a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant looking to join a busy orthopedic practice? Our client is seeking a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and enjoys providing exceptional patient care. Previous orthopedic experience is preferred, but candidates with strong clinical skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Escort patients to and from exam rooms while ensuring their comfort and preparing them for examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and accurately document patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and vital signs within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer injections and perform other clinical duties within the scope of certification and physician direction.
- Collect, prepare, and process laboratory and pathology specimens.
- Communicate laboratory and test results to patients as directed by the provider and coordinate follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure instructions while documenting all patient education provided.
- Answer incoming patient phone calls, address questions appropriately, and relay clinical concerns to providers when necessary.
- Prepare procedure rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment.
- Sterilize instruments using proper infection control procedures and operate autoclave equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation while following HIPAA and clinic policies.
- Assist with additional clinical duties as assigned to support efficient patient care.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential preferred.
- Previous orthopedic experience is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a physician clinic or medical office.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor with exceptional customer service skills.
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license and reliable transportation.
