Peer Recovery Support Specialist

Starting Pay: $19/hour Benefits: 34 paid days off in your first year, generous benefits package, and mileage reimbursement A recovery support specialist is defined as an individual who possesses a minimum of a certification as a peer recovery support specialist through the ODMHSAS with a willingness to share about his/her lived experience with the intent to model a recovery lifestyle through a strengths-based framework.

General RSS professional job duties include:

• Facilitating peer recovery support- health & wellness groups (smoking cessation, relaxation, budget)
• Providing one-on-one recovery support services via face-to-face and phone to address:
• Teaching & supporting the acquisition & utilization of skills needed to facilitate recovery
• Referring, linking & encouraging sustained involvement with community self-help (mutual support) groups
• Supporting in developing and using a wellness recovery action plan/crisis plan
• Assisting in developing positive social networks
• Utilizing, modeling & teaching problem solving techniques
• Teaching how to identify & combat negative self-talk & fears
• Assisting in building social skills that will enhance quality of life
• Promoting the knowledge of available services, options, choices & supports including natural supports in the community
• Facilitating the development of a sense of wellness and self-worth with a focus on basic needs such as employment, housing, education/employment, and health & wellness
• Transporting patients/clients as needed
• Contributing and participating as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to assist individuals to recover and carry-out the mission of the organization
• Assisting other staff in identifying program/service/resources conducive to recovery
• Documented productivity sent to HR weekly & hourly timesheet sent every two weeks to HR
• Completion of all job-related paperwork in a timely fashion, preferred daily but within 48-hours
• Practicing safe record keeping and client privacy
• Following CTI standards of care and meeting productivity expectations
• Demonstrating core competency in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders
• Continual monitoring and updating of CEU's, field-related trainings and PRSS Certification

Qualifications
