To support a high-intensity and holistic treatment milieu, the Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) Stabilization and Engagement (SET) Peer Recovery Support Specialist will provide structured, timely, and client-centered treatment to clients experiencing concurrent substance use disorder and serious mental illness (SMI). This role will work as part of a treatment team to provide additional support for clients experiencing SMI which may negatively impact their ability to benefit from detox and residential treatment while at the ARC.

Working in an evolving field, this treatment provider will be expected to implement evidence-based practices to increase treatment efficacy as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

• Provide group and individual peer recovery and wellness services to clients.
• Document individual services collaboratively with clients.
• Document group services with clients in compliance with agency requirements.
• Participate with client in GRAND provider and nurse appointments, when requested.
• Advocate with clients to assist in communicating treatment needs with clinicians and medical staff.
• Assist in discharge planning with treatment team and client.
• Participate in weekly treatment team staffing to address barriers and progress for clients.
• Escalate safety concerns to treatment team and leadership to ensure client safety.
• Provide support and de-escalation to clients as needed.
• Other duties as reasonably assigned by leadership.

• Actively involved in recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.
• Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRSS) certification in good standing with the state of Oklahoma.
• High School diploma, or equivalent.

• Ability to document progress and barriers to communicate medical necessity of client’s treatment.
• High degree of verbal and written communication skills, for both clinical and professional communication.
• High level ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with other healthcare providers, both verbally and in written documentation.
• Ability to effectively and ethically utilize self-disclosure related to recovery journey to enhance client’s treatment outcomes.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of statutes and regulations related to client rights, confidentiality, and healthcare ethics.
• Ability to navigate software using the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to effectively navigate and document within an Electronic Health Record.
• Communicates in a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma informed manner with clients, peers, and other professionals.
