To support a high-intensity and holistic treatment milieu, the Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) Stabilization and Engagement (SET) Therapist will provide structured, timely, and client-centered treatment to clients experiencing concurrent substance use disorder and serious mental illness (SMI). This role will work as part of a treatment team to provide additional support for clients experiencing SMI which may negatively impact their ability to benefit from detox and residential treatment while at the ARC.

Working in an evolving field, this treatment provider will be expected to implement evidence-based practices to increase treatment efficacy as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

• Provide individual therapy for clients experiencing SMI while receiving treatment at the ARC.
• Complete screenings and assessments to determine client’s specific treatment needs.
• Conduct thorough, timely, and holistic clinical interviews.
• Provide diagnoses reflective of screenings, assessments, and clinical interviews.
• Complete, review, and update treatment plans to accurately reflect client’s treatment needs and progress.
• Provide group and individual therapy services.
• Complete individual service documentation collaboratively with clients present.
• Group therapy documentation in compliance with agency’s most up-to-date policies.
• Regularly participate in case staffing with counselors at the ARC to assess risk and treatment planning for clients indicating need for additional care.
• Complete and document Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) interventions for clients with acute suicidality.
• Request and ensure completion of safety checks for client’s experiencing suicidality.
• Consult with URC staff to determine placement needs if safety concerns necessitate additional stabilization.
• Participate in discharge and transition planning with treatment team members and client to ensure continuity of care amongst treatment providers.
• Complete staffing with treatment providers as it relates to client discharge, transition, and continued care.
• Conduct weekly case staffing with treatment team members to address treatment needs and monitor client progress.
• Escalate client safety and treatment concerns to leadership to determine best practices in providing a safe and recovery-oriented treatment environment.
• Provide de-escalation and safety planning services as needed.
• Other duties as reasonably assigned by leadership.

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or equivalent.
• Licensed or under supervision mental health provider in the state of Oklahoma (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LADC-MH, etc.)
• 1-year experience working in social services, preferred.
• 6-month experience working in residential substance use treatment facility, preferred.

• Ability to document progress and barriers to communicate medical necessity of client’s treatment.
• High degree of verbal and written communication skills, for both clinical and professional communication.
• Ability to accurately assess client needs to create a personalized and client-centered treatment plan.
• High degree of understanding of most up-to-date ASAM criteria.
• Understanding of best practices related to diagnosis and treatment planning based on most recent DSM criteria.
• High level ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with other healthcare providers, both verbally and in written documentation.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of statutes and regulations related to client rights, confidentiality, and healthcare ethics.
• Ability to navigate software using the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to effectively navigate and document within an Electronic Health Record.
• Communicates in a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma informed manner with clients, peers, and other professionals.
