Primary Responsibilities:
Specimen Collection & Processing Collect urine and other biological samples from patients in a safe and professional manner.
Properly label, store, and prepare specimens for in-house testing or external laboratory processing.
Follow strict protocols to prevent contamination and ensure sample integrity.
Laboratory Testing & Analysis Ensure timely and accurate reporting of laboratory test results to providers.
Maintain detailed records of all laboratory tests, results, and quality control checks.
Compliance & Quality Control Adhere to patient confidentiality and all regulatory requirements, including CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA.Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring regular cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting as needed.
Properly handle and dispose of biohazard materials according to safety protocols.
Administrative & Collaborative Duties Assist providers in interpreting test results when necessary.
Assist with maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies and order replacements as needed.
Communicate with external laboratories for specialized testing and results retrieval.
Assist with other projects or office tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1-2 years of laboratory experience in a medical or clinical setting required.
Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or specialty clinics preferred.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and laboratory information systems (LIS) preferred.
Environmental/
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English fluently.
Requires cognitive skills for decision-making, clinical judgment, and documentation.
Must be able to lift 30–40 pounds and tolerate exposure to blood, chemicals, and infectious diseases.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced clinical and procedural environment.
