As a full-time Inpatient Nurse Tech, you will work 7am-7pm, with 1 eight-hour shift per month on a Saturday (the only weekend requirement). This position qualifies for discretionary quarterly bonuses and our full benefits package.

The Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional who assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. You may assist with activities of daily living, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain tests/procedures performed for a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of an RN.

Supports the nursing and medical staff to provide optimum patient outcomes.

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care under RN supervision.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients.
• Support nursing and medical staff in delivering direct and indirect patient care.
• Assist with tests and procedures as assigned, based on unit needs and patient population.

• High school graduate or equivalent. Maintains current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department’s competency program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to start date, or class to be taken at OSH within 60 days (free of charge).
• Experience:
  
  Zero to six months prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program preferred.

  Skills:
  
  Cognitive, technical, and interpersonal skills to deliver direct and indirect care under RN direction. Strong teamwork and cooperation; knowledge of current caregiver practices unit/age-specific.
