Company Description Health Outreach Prevention Education, Inc (HOPE) Testing Clinic of Tulsa is a nonprofit organization focused on providing free, rapid, low-cost, and accessible HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C testing. The clinic is committed to STD prevention and comprehensive sexual health education for diverse communities in Tulsa and surrounding areas. HOPE is looking for a compassionate, self-motivated Community Outreach & Medical Testing Specialist to join our team and help connect individuals to life-changing HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI prevention, testing, and treatment services.

What You'll Do

As a Community Outreach & Medical Testing Specialist, you'll be on the front lines of community health, splitting your time between our clinic and outreach in the field. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Community Outreach — Identify and build relationships at outreach sites; develop ongoing testing and education events targeting at-risk populations
  • Testing & Counseling — Conduct HIV/HCV/STI testing, pre- and post-test counseling, and specimen collection (phlebotomy training provided!)
  • Client Navigation — Guide clients through PEP and PrEP services from intake through follow-up, including risk assessments, insurance enrollment, and medication access
  • Linkage to Care — Connect clients to medical providers, social services, and Disease Intervention Specialists, ensuring no one falls through the cracks
  • Education — Deliver prevention education to youth and community members alike
  • Data & Documentation — Maintain accurate records in PHIDDO and support funding efforts with meaningful program data
  • Community Presence — Represent HOPE at health fairs and community events
Who You Are

You don't need to check every box below — we value heart, hustle, and a genuine commitment to serving others just as much as credentials.

Required:
  • Medical background but no license required
  • GED or High School Diploma (Bachelor's degree a plus)
  • At least 1 year of experience working with or caring for underserved populations

    Comfortable working with diverse communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, people experiencing homelessness, and people who use drugs
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's license and personal auto insurance
  • Strong communication skills and comfort with PC/tablet technology and MS Office
  • Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend outreach (within a 40-hour week)
Nice to Have:
  • Phlebotomy certification (training provided if you don't have it)
  • HIV/AIDS evidence-based intervention experience (training provided)
  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply (Additional Pay Potential)
