Norman Regional Health System, a multi-campus provider serving the greater Norman area, is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you'll perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, assist physicians in the cath lab, and ensure accurate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring. You'll provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining safety and quality standards. Responsibilities- Assist cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures (e.g., cardiac catheterizations, angiograms, peripheral interventions)
- Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies according to protocol and sterile technique
- Verify patient identity, review histories, and help explain procedures to patients and families
- Perform patient preparation including positioning, monitoring setup, and IV lines as directed
- Operate imaging systems and hemodynamic monitoring equipment during procedures
- Accurately record and document images, measurements, and hemodynamic data
- Monitor patient status and vital signs, promptly reporting significant changes to the provider
- Assist with vascular access, contrast administration setup, and device preparation during procedures
- Maintain radiation safety practices for patients, self, and team members
- Support emergency cardiovascular interventions, including STEMI and other urgent cases
- Participate in on-call rotation, responding to after-hours and weekend cardiovascular emergencies as scheduled
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot specialized cath lab and cardiovascular equipment
- Stock, organize, and manage inventory of supplies and devices for cardiovascular procedures
- Follow all infection prevention, quality, and safety standards and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in continuing education, competencies, and team training to support professional growth and high-quality patient care
- Operation of cardiac catheterization and angiography imaging equipment
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of basic waveforms and pressures
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiovascular pathologies
- Radiation safety principles and dose minimization techniques
- Sterile technique and infection prevention in invasive procedures
- Vascular access support and management
- Contrast media handling and safety
- ECG/EKG monitoring and recognition of basic arrhythmias
- Basic and advanced life support skills in a procedural environment
- Equipment troubleshooting and basic maintenance for cath lab systems
- Accurate clinical documentation and use of electronic health records (EHR)
- Effective communication with physicians, nurses, patients, and families
- Teamwork in high-acuity and time-sensitive clinical situations
- Time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced procedural area
