POSITION SUMMARY:

The Market Director, Risk Management is responsible for the oversight and support of a designated group Ardent affiliates / facilities, based on size and geography. This position develops and supports facility level risk management activities and programs. This position will manage the Risk Management needs across the assigned affiliates, including support for policy and procedure implementation, risk identification and mitigation, provide onsite and remote risk management related education, and support.

The Market Director, Risk Management has significant interaction, collaboration with and support of Hospital Leadership, and other departments.

Responsibilities

Communication and Implementation of the AHS Risk Management Program, for designated facilities.

Delivers training and education modules for identified and potential risk areas and best practices to assigned facilities.

Supports facility Risk Managers for reported patient complaints and grievances, as needed, as well as with necessary discovery, mitigation and resolution efforts related to legal demands and/or proceedings related to potentially compensable events, working closely with outside Defense Counsel

Development and Implementation support of strategic risk management initiatives, including Premium Credit Programs

Prepares oral and written reports, including recommendations for improvement based on event related and/or industry trends, as well as, event analysis

Conducts onsite risk management assessment(s), as well as identification and implementation facility specific projects and initiatives related to specific risk mitigation needs

Analysis of market specific trends for early risk identification and mitigation

Market participation and oversight for annual insurance renewal processes

Responsible for support to Facility Risk Managers with daily RM needs and compliance with key risk management metrics for designated facilities, as well as coordination of multi-disciplinary joint projects and initiatives for designated facilities

Coordinate policy and procedure communication and implementation at assigned facilities, when necessary.

Meets with facility C-suite monthly, at a minimum, to ensure transparency and awareness of risk management events, address any concerns or needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
7+ years in relevant healthcare experience, including leadership and direct oversight of Risk Managers
Experience in prioritization of work streams and projects.
Problem Solving abilities.
Ability to plan, develop, and present programmatic materials in front of an audience greater than 20 people, including senior leadership at the facility and corporate levels.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Strong and effective communication skills
Ability to foster strong communication and collaboration among Quality, Operations, Leadership and Service Units.
