Travel Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience to work in a Level 2 trauma center's acute care setting.

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
• PT license required if applicable
• Experience in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting
• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive clinical judgment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Comfortable overseeing physical therapy assistants, students, and support personnel
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required

• Acute care setting at a Level 2 trauma center
• Day shift, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
• Minimum of 2 weekend days per month required, with additional opportunities available
• Treats patients across all units within the hospital, mostly located in one tower
• Patient population includes neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions
• Works within a large rehab team of approximately 45-50 associates including PT, OT, and speech therapy
• Core team includes approximately 8 physical therapists and 3 physical therapist assistants, supplemented by PRN staff
• Uses Cerner EMR for real-time documentation and point of service care
• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments to establish, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Conducts therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to patient condition
• Engages regularly with the interdisciplinary care team
• Training provided by the team to prepare for clinical responsibilities
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply and could affect pay rate
