Senior HR Generalist

At Senior Star, our culture is built through our people—and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist who knows how to balance strong associate advocacy with sound judgment, consistency, and business needs.
Based at our Corporate Office in Tulsa, this role provides HR support across Senior Star communities and serves as an experienced resource for our community leaders and HR Specialists.
This isn’t just a transactional HR role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable navigating associate relations, workplace investigations, performance management, HR compliance, and complex people situations while building trusted relationships with leaders and associates.
What You’ll Do- Lead workplace and associate-relations investigations, including interviews, fact-finding, documentation, and investigation summaries
- Partner with leaders on associate relations, performance management, corrective action, and Performance Improvement Plans
- Coach leaders and HR Specialists on effective documentation and consistent HR practices
- Provide practical guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices
- Recognize higher-risk employment matters and escalation appropriately
- Support HR compliance, audits, associate-file reviews, and documentation requirements
- Assist with leave and accommodation processes, unemployment claims, employment verifications, and other general HR needs
- Support HRIS data integrity and reporting
- Serve as an experienced resource for HR Specialists across Senior Star communities
- Help identify trends and opportunities to strengthen our people practices across the organization
- Support company wide HR initiatives, training, associate engagement, recognition, and other People & Culture initiatives
- Provide additional HR support to communities during transitions, vacancies, investigations, or other periods of increased need
- Periodically travel to Senior Star communities when onsite HR support is needed
What We’re Looking For:
- 4–5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Meaningful experience with employee relations and workplace investigations
- Strong knowledge of employment practices and federal and state employment laws
- Ability to objectively investigate complex situations and clearly document findings
- Strong judgment with the ability to independently manage HR matters while recognizing when escalation is appropriate
- Excellent communication, interviewing, fact-finding, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build credibility and productive relationships with associates and leaders at all levels
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities across multiple locations
- Experience working with an HRIS;
Dayforce experience preferred - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant HR experience may be considered
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred, but not required
- Multi-location HR experience strongly preferred
- Senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or another multi-site service industry background is a plus
