Purposeof Position
Have an understanding of the entire process of installing a visual system and be able to efficiently direct the installation of a visual system.
Tasks And Responsibilities- Assess the current condition of a visual system and prioritize any necessary corrective/setup actions.
- Install new or modified equipment at a customer’s facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
- Read, understand and interpret electronic schematics and written procedures.
- Utilize basic electronic test equipment, perform signal tracing, and have the aptitude necessary to understand advanced analog and digital technology.
- Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives and inspect malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of the problem.
- Analyze review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
- Coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
- Provide on‑site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Maintain records of performance reports.
- Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
- Develop and conduct training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
- Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
- Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments.
- Be accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and for the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
- Adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
- Maintain alertness and work in a safe manner.
- Associate’s degree (A.
A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school in electronics or electronic technology; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Thirteen (13) years of experience.
- Familiarity with how the visual system communicates with a simulator host computer and ability to resolve basic host‑visual integration issues.
- Fluency in the software configuration of a visual system and ability to modify system parameters as necessary.
- Basic knowledge of personal computer and UNIX operation.
