Job Description
The Infrastructure Administrator IV is a senior-level technical role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This position provides advanced expertise in network and server systems, leads complex infrastructure projects, and serves as a key advisor in technology planning. By delivering robust and scalable solutions, the role supports business continuity and contributes to the organization’s long-term technology strategy.
PrimaryDuties
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network and server infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
- Lead infrastructure projects such as system migrations, network redesigns, and hardware upgrades.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement and maintain security measures, including access controls and patch management.
- Administer core infrastructure services such as directory services, IP management, and virtualization platforms.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system architecture, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide Tier IV support for escalated technical issues and serve as a subject matter expert for complex troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to develop infrastructure strategies and technology roadmaps.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related discipline; 6+ years of experience in network and systems administration in an enterprise environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Preferred:
Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP, or equivalent; experience with hybrid cloud environments.
- Advanced knowledge of networking protocols, virtualization, and server administration.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across complex infrastructure environments.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills for cross-functional projects.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Frequent sitting and computer use for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and adjust equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions and documentation.
- Work performed in a professional office setting and occasionally in manufacturing environments with exposure to noise.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when in operational areas.
- Evening and weekend work may be necessary based on operational needs.
- Compliance with all applicable safety policies to maintain a secure working environment.
