Intern - IT

Job Description:

The IT Intern position at AAON provides students with hands-on experience supporting the company's technology infrastructure and digital initiatives. Interns will assist with a variety of IT functions including help desk support, system maintenance, and project-based tasks. This role is designed to develop technical skills, business acumen, and professional experience in a real-world manufacturing environment. Interns will work closely with IT professionals to gain exposure to enterprise systems and contribute to the company's digital transformation efforts.

Primary Duties

The IT Intern will support day-to-day IT operations and assist with troubleshooting, system updates, and user support. Interns will also participate in projects related to infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application support, depending on departmental needs and intern interests.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

* Provide first-level technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

* Assist with system installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance tasks.

* Support IT staff in managing user accounts, permissions, and network access.

* Help document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

* Participate in IT projects such as system rollouts, cybersecurity audits, or software testing.

* Monitor and report on system performance and user feedback.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and IT solutions.

* Learn and apply best practices in IT service management and cybersecurity.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred: Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.

* Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and common IT tools.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

* Movement between office and technical areas as needed.

The IT Intern will primarily work in an office or IT lab setting, with occasional visits to manufacturing areas for support tasks.
