NSX Senior Consultant - Remote
The NSX Senior Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting VMware NSX solutions within client environments. This role focuses on hands‑on delivery, including network virtualization, segmentation, and security implementation to support scalable and secure infrastructure outcomes. The position works directly with client stakeholders and delivery teams to execute NSX deployments across enterprise environments. The consultant is expected to operate independently, troubleshoot complex networking issues, and deliver consistent results in a fast‑paced consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy and manage NSX resources through SDDC Manager, incorporating VPC‑based self‑service models and Advanced Load Balancing (Avi) to support modern application delivery.
- Deploy and support NSX components such as edge nodes, Tier‑0 and Tier‑1 gateways, and overlay networking.
- Configure distributed firewalling and microsegmentation to support security requirements.
- Execute migration and integration activities from traditional networking to NSX‑based architectures.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, and performance issues across NSX environments.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to validate requirements and ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Support lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance.
- Maintain clear documentation of configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to the client and internal stakeholders.
- Current experience implementing and supporting VMware NSX solutions in enterprise environments.
- Expert understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, firewalling, and segmentation.
- Experience with NSX‑T environments, including overlay networking and gateway configuration.
- Experience troubleshooting network and infrastructure issues in production environments.
- Experience working in client‑facing or consulting environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables independently.
- VMware certifications such as VCP‑NV, VCAP‑NV, or related tracks.
- Customer Consulting and Delivery:
Ability to work directly with clients to implement solutions, communicate progress, and ensure successful outcomes. - NSX Implementation and Configuration:
Ability to deploy and configure logical switching, routing, and edge services within NSX. - Network Virtualization Expertise:
Ability to implement overlay networking, Tier‑0/Tier‑1 routing, and gateway configurations. - Security and Microsegmentation:
Ability to design and apply distributed firewall policies and segmentation strategies. - Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis:
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex networking and connectivity issues. - Lifecycle and Operations Support:
Ability to perform upgrades, patching, and ongoing environment maintenance. - Documentation and Communication:
Ability to document configurations and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
